TickerVue ("TickerVue", "we", "us") is operated by Precision Algo LLC. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use tickervue.com and TickerVue Chat (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. If you have questions, write to support@tickervue.com.
1. Data we collect
Account information. Your email address, name if you give it, login identifiers (for example from Google if you sign in with Google), two-step verification and passkey registrations, and your account status, such as whether you're on the beta waitlist.
Profile and preferences. Settings you choose, such as risk tolerance, time horizon, display preferences, and your email settings.
Your content. Portfolios, watchlists, trading projects, alerts, backtests and research you create in the Service.
Conversations and AI activity. Messages, attachments, findings and feedback you send to or create with TickerVue Chat, and records of how each request was processed.
Brokerage data. If you connect a brokerage account through SnapTrade, your SnapTrade credentials and the brokerage data we fetch are stored encrypted. When TickerVue fetches brokerage data, the request passes through our servers to SnapTrade; we don't store or log the decrypted contents. Brokerage statements you import on Home are saved in your browser, not on our servers.
Service and device data. Request timing, session identifiers, errors, traces, security events, browser and device details, and which features you use. We use this to run, secure, diagnose and improve the Service.
Email data. Whether our emails were delivered, and whether you unsubscribed. We don't track email opens or link clicks.
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
2. How we use your data
- To create and secure your account, log you in, and keep you logged in.
- To provide the Service: store and show your portfolios, research and conversations, run your backtests and alerts, and answer Chat requests.
- To personalize Chat answers using the preferences and context you've given us.
- To send the emails described in our Email & Communications Policy, including account and security emails and, only if you opt in, product updates.
- To monitor, debug, secure and improve the Service.
- To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the EU or UK), we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the Service, your consent (for optional emails), and legal obligations.
3. Sign-in and security
How you log in determines what we hold:
- Password: a one-way hash of it, kept by our authentication provider. We never see or store the password itself.
- Google: your Google account ID, email address and name, if you log in with Google.
- Passkeys: each passkey's public key, credential ID and device label, such as "iCloud Keychain". Face ID, Touch ID and other biometrics are checked on your device and never leave it; we never receive biometric data.
- Authenticator app (administrators only today): the shared secret your app uses to generate codes, kept by our authentication provider.
- Login activity: when you log in, from which IP address and browser, used to secure your account and investigate misuse.
We keep each login method while it's active and delete it when you remove it or delete your account. When you add or remove a login method, or change your password or email, we email you so you can spot changes you didn't make.
4. AI processing
When you use TickerVue Chat, the content needed to answer your request (your messages, attachments, relevant portfolio or brokerage values you share, and tool results) is sent to the AI model providers we work with, which process it to generate the response.
TickerVue keeps your conversations so you can come back to them, for as long as your account exists. Removing a conversation takes it out of your chat list; its content stays with your account until you delete your account, which deletes all of them. AI output can be wrong; see our Terms of Service.
5. Who processes data for us
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit how they use it. They fall into these categories:
- Hosting and infrastructure: the servers, databases and networks the Service runs on.
- Authentication: logging you in and keeping your login secure.
- AI model providers: generating answers in TickerVue Chat.
- Email delivery: sending account emails and, if you opt in, product updates.
- Monitoring: error reports and performance logs that help us keep the Service working.
- Google: only if you log in with Google.
- SnapTrade: only if you connect a brokerage account.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect people's safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply to your data).
Market data providers supply the prices and fundamentals shown in TickerVue; they don't receive your personal data.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage only to run the Service, not for advertising or cross-site tracking:
- Login cookies keep you logged in, and note when you were last active so we can sign you out after the period of inactivity you choose.
- Security cookies protect forms against cross-site request forgery and protect data-export and account-deletion steps.
- Monitoring cookies: our error monitoring may set a short-lived session cookie so errors from one visit can be grouped together.
- Local storage keeps display preferences and the brokerage data described above on your device.
Our site doesn't respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because we don't track you across other sites.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account data and your content for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove your account data from our active systems and delete your login identity. Security records that can no longer be linked to you, and encrypted backups, may remain until normal retention and backup rotation remove them. Service and security logs are kept only as long as our providers' rolling retention periods, measured in days or weeks rather than years, and are then deleted. If you unsubscribe from product updates, we keep a record of that so we keep honoring it.
8. Security
Passwords are checked by our authentication provider; TickerVue never receives your raw password. We use encrypted connections, access controls, private storage and two-step verification options to protect your data. TickerVue asks you to log in again 30 days after you log in, and you can choose to be signed out sooner when you're inactive. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires.
9. Your rights and choices
- Access and export: download a copy of your data from Privacy & data.
- Deletion: delete your account from Delete account.
- Correction: update your details in your account settings, or ask us.
- Email: turn product updates on or off in email settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any optional email. Account and security emails can't be turned off while you have an account.
- Other requests: write to support@tickervue.com. We'll respond within the time the law requires.
If you're in the EU or UK, you can also object to or restrict some processing, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
10. International transfers
We're based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. When we transfer data from the EU or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and tell you by email or in the Service before the changes take effect.
